From a design perspective, the soap-dispensing sponge brush is attractive and feels great in my hand. However, the main function of the device is to supply the attached sponge with soap. I have gone through three sponge heads and enlarged the diameter of the soap dispenser hole and I still can't get the sponge to absorb enough soap to wash my dishes effectively. Most of the time I resort to manually squirting a bit of soap on the sponge from a bottle of dishwashing liquid to get the right amount of soap saturated into the brush. I hope OXO can address this issue, as I love how the handle feels in my hand and how easy it is to replace the sponge. If not for the dispensing problem, I would gladly give the brush 5 stars. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful  Makes washing dishes just a little easier, This review is from: OXO Good Grips Soap-Dispensing Sponge Brush (Kitchen) Nobody likes washing dishes, and as far as I'm concerned, anything that makes it a little easier and less of a chore is well worth the money. I've used variations of soap dispensing sponge brushes for years now, and they've become a requirement for doing dishes. No more getting your hands filthy doing the dishes, the handle keeps you a safe distance from the week old salmon soup you're trying to scrub out of your pot, all the while dispensing the right amount of soap to cut through the grease.My only complain with these has been that I always get the cheap ones and then find I can never find replacement sponges. We liked the "Good Grips" handle and the rounded brush. Beyond that, it is useless. The sponge never recieves enough soap, which is frustrating, and the durability is nil. After less that a week, on average, the sponge separates from the plastic backing that attaches it to the soap dispensing handle, rendering it useless. The sponge is barely worn, yet you have to throw it out and buy a new one. This is disappointing for a company that seems to have such well made products. We sent an e-mail describing the design problem to OXO customer service, and did not recieve a satisfactory reply. I hope they listen to their customers and pull this off the market, and replace it with a more durable product. |
